The electronic device that helps the voter vote with the button of their choice for the candidates is known as an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
It is divided into two units: the control unit and the balloting unit. The control unit is retained by the presiding officer whereas the balloting unit is kept in the voting compartment for electors to cast votes.
